It seems like whenever something wonderful is going on in your life you always seem to find out who your true friends are… The ones who will be with you through think and thin.. the ones who are truly happy for you. I feel this especially comes out around weddings.. Now people seem to think its just the bride going crazy about things but its really the other way around.. Let me try to explain myself..

When I was getting married and I had my wedding events I had some people who I considered to be really good friends of mine not even show up.. What makes it bad is that some even said that they would attend but they just did not show up and never heard from them again.. Crazy I know. I will break this down by person and give you the break down and I hope they read this..

Lets start with two of my Delta Zeta Sorority Sisters.. Well EX sisters! I will call them Kelly and Ella.. In college it was always us 3. Going out it was always that 3 of us.. we were in the same pledge class and everything. When I graduated I moved home which was about 1.5 hours away and they stayed in the area. We kept in touch for the most part through texting or facebook with the occasional phone call.. which I think is how most people keep in contact these days.. They even came to my engagement party and every thing SEEMED to be fine.. Then when it came to my real wedding events such as the bridal shower and “girls night out” they said that they were even going to come. My sisters planned my parties.. they RSVP that they were coming.. my sister fronted the money since they were supposed to pay for the ‘girls night out” once they got there but they never showed… leaving my sister out of money. I tried contacting them to see what happened.. Got a text message saying that Ella would call me back.. NEVER HEARD FROM HER AGAIN.. its one of those things where if you don’t want to be there and be happy for me then I really don’t want you there anyway.

I had another good friend tell me that Kelly did not show up to these events because she does not agree with my marriage.. Now I really don’t know what that is supposed to mean but I really do not care. I am glad that they are no longer apart of my life and I never have to see them again. So of course I did not extend the invitation to the wedding to them.. I think that goes with out saying.. So when you have something important going on in your life.. make sure you play attention to who is there and who you never hear from again..

I am interested in hearing if anything like this has ever happened to you..

Well right now it seems like all I do are link ups but they are so much fun that I just can not help myself!! This like up is with the infamous fabulous but evil and her blog is amaz-balls!! Go check her out!! I think i am just going to do a ‘about me’ post so lets just do ‘the damn thing’ as my husband likes to say lol

Well I am 25 and recently married… if you look down to the right side bar you will see my little marriage counter.. its going on 2 months that I have been married to my male bff!! My Blog is just about being newly married and trying to make our way through this crazy thing called life. I feel like it is especially hard since we chose the old fashioned way of not living together before marriage so we are really getting used to each other.

When I start making real meals then I will start showing recipes and things like that.. Right now I know how to make hamburger helper and anything that comes out of a bag.. which is sad but IM LEARNING!! Thats what is important.. right?? RIGHT! I knew you would see things my way.. which is always the RIGHT way!

I am the proud mommy of 2 babies and alot of this blog will end up being about them too as well.. Hopefully you will join me in getting through this game of life!!

Link Up : Target Tuesday!!

I want to say is that I am really enjoying all these link ups!! This is the 2nd one I am doing and they are so much fun!!! This one is called Target Tuesday and all you do is post about what you are loving at target! So here is mine!!

Nikon L120 : I am loving this camera!! Hopefully I will be able to get it soon so I can stop using the camera on my phone to take all my pictures!! If you know of a better camera in the same price range let me know!!

I think this pillow is kind of funky but I like it!!

And baby Lucy would just love this bed!!!

Leaving behind the old and moving to something new..

Well as most of you know ( who follow me on twitter anyway) I was really unhappy with my last job. The pay was absolutely horrible among other things.. All I did was complain about it. However it was my fault for staying there as long as I did. Now don’t get me wrong.. I liked my co workers and everything but the actual job I did not like. I guess I should explain what my job was for the people who do not know. My job title was called a community integration assistant.. now what i did was I worked with mentally ill adults after they got out of state hospitals. Now on the good days I did not MIND my job but there were never any days where I could say that I liked it. It is what it is. It was a J.O.B. Now I stayed at that job for about 3 years. It was the longest 3 years of my life. When I would talk to my husband (then boyfriend) all i did was complain about how I did not want to go back. However as all of you know, times are tough and its hard to come across jobs these days.

So finally when it was time for me to get married I put in my 2 weeks. I had about 40 hours saved up of PTO ( paid time off) so i used that so I went about 2 weeks without pay. Then I got married and then started putting in applications in my new town. Went on a couple interviews and and I actually got offered both jobs. I took one. For the pay and the location ( its really close to home) it would be well worth it. Its not my dream job but its something and its something that I do not mind doing. It is in retail and I am used to working retail so it was good. I also get a nice discount which helps! After being out of work for 2 months, I must say that it is nice getting out of the house and helping bring $$ into the house hold and I do not feel like I’m just here to do laundry. Now I’m not saying that is how my husband made me feel but that is how I made me feel. ( If that makes any sense at all). Anyway I will make sure I keep you posted on my job and keep the updates coming!!

Our holiday weekend

I love holiday weekends!! Especially when I do not have to work. The husband had the weekend off and goes back to work tomorrow (wed). So we got to spend an extended amount of time together which was really nice. On Saturday we went up north to see our new puppy.. we did not expect holiday traffic on Saturday. We thought everyone would have gone up on friday so that was not any fun.. sitting in traffic with everyone and their mother for 4 hours on a trip that should have taken only 2.. but anyway we got to pick out little Lucy!! we are excited to bring her home.. We can bring her home the last week in July.. That can not come soon enough. Rosco is excited to get a little sister.. at least that is what I keep telling myself. She is coming from a loving family and one of my friends is getting a dog from the same litter ( which is how I got the puppy hook up in the first place)

On saturday night we went to my friends graduation party. They are twins and one graduated law school and the other got her masters degree in social work!! How awesome is that!! We sang kareoke to cindy loper girls just want to have fun with my sorority sisters and then another couple that we are friends with who got married the week after us we did a duet with them to sonny and cher ‘ i got you babe’ which was awesome!!

Then on Sunday we went to the island called Harsons Island. It was absoutly amazing. I had never been on a ferry before so that was pretty awesome!! I ate and took a nap on a hammack and relaxed. The husband got some sun so he was happy about that. He swam and I just hung out on shore.. I dont really do that deep water swimming since my skills are not advanced.. I have the swimming ability of a 2 year old.. which I am pretty sure that a 2 year old would last longer than me if it came down to survial of the fittest lol.. lets hope that day never comes for my sake..

On Monday we went to a pool party/ bbq at our friends place which was really nice! I made a pasta salad as our dish to pass!! It was a huge hit ( all im saying is that I did not have any left overs to take home) so I will have to make a blog post to share it with you all so you can make it for your next hoilday party!!

Finally on Tuesday..this was supposed to be our day of rest.. but there is no such thing.. we got up and went to best buy.. I want to get a new camera.. The pictures on here that I took were taken with my cell phone.. but want something that takes pretty good pictures so that is something that we are looking into.. if you have any recomendations please share!!! We also went and signed me up at lifetime fitness! I love that place! its soo nice! Then we went and got some lunch at the mediteranian grill. Love that place too. Then we went to pets mart and got somethings for Lucy for when she comes home. Then we went and got some groceries and then came home and rested. Then went back to lifetime to go swimming and get in the hot tub!! That was fun too! ( Some day of rest huh? lol)

A whole new world..

My life has finally calmed down some. Thank you baby Jesus!! I know I always say that I am going to actively work on this blog. But this time I mean it! I am excited to do it now. I feel like my life is going to be changing a lot and I would like to bring all of you along for this crazy ride. So first things first. I guess I should go ahead and give you an update. I am married and all moved into our cohabitation palace! I will eventually take pictures and give you a look into our place.

I guess I should start with the wedding weekend! Is it bad that I can barely remember the things that happened? Everything happened so fast and so much was going on that everything is just kind of a blur…

Mat and I got married on June 10,2011 in Flint Michigan. The days leading up to the wedding is when all of our families started coming from out-of-town. His family from Florida came and I had family come from as far as switzerland! I could not believe it. It made me the happiest girl in the world besides marrying the man of my dreams that is..

The day of the wedding I woke up and watched tv and had breakfast with my eldest sister. It was relaxing and fun just to hang out. I was not stressed or nervous one bit. What is there to be nervous about when you are marrying the man of your dreams.

All the girls came to my room to get make up done which made everything easy having everyone in one place. Once that was done then we got dressed then it was time for the limo to come pick us up.

From then the whole day pretty much just flew by. The church went really fast. I think I was most nervous walking down the aisle which I think any bride is. Just the point of walking in front of everyone and everyone watching your every move. That was stress full.

We did a sand ceremony instead of having the unity candle. Just to try to switch it up.

Then the service was pretty much over. The whole wedding was maybe 30 min if that. Then it was picture time which seemed to take a while but our photographer was so on top of things and very boom boom boom if that makes any sense. I liked her a lot. She got the job done in the right amount of time.

Then it was on to the reception where we danced the night away. I made sure the DJ played ‘waka waka’ by shikira! Love that song and you better believe I danced by butt off! I had the time of my life but I am glad that everything is over and i do not ever want to do it again!!

So after a year of planning it’s all done and I walked away with my best friend as my husband and I could not ask for anything more!

I don’t really know how to start this off so I am just going to jump in.. I woke up in the middle of the night the other night having what I thought was a panic attack. I think it has just finally hit me that I am getting married and to be honest it really scared the crap out of me. Lol. My thing is that there is SO much to pay for. Not even when it just comes to actual wedding preparations but AFTER the wedding. I was thinking omg. We will have to pay rent and insurance for the apartment and both cars and heat bill,water bill, electricity bill, student loans,.. any bill you can think of we will have to pay. I know this sounds crazy like how could anyone not think of these things but in my case I have never had to pay any of these things. The only bills I have ever had to pay is my cell phone bill and my student loan. Mat on the other has a better concept of money and what things cost. He handles all his own bills so I guess that good that at least one of us has a money concept. A realistic concept of money. Now it’s not that I think that we will struggle with money but I just don’t want to be without money. I want to be able to go out and do things when i want and not have to be like “oh sorry guys I don’t have the money” Mat has assured me that it will not be that way. That was a huge sigh of relief.

Something else that stresses me out is that we have absolutely nothing to furnish a place to live. That is something else we have to do. We are trying to pay for everything with cash so that we do not have any extra bills which is really good. So we will just be buying this over time. I really just want things to work out and I want the perfect life which i know there no such thing but I think you get what im saying. I want things to go smoothly. Anyone have any thoughts or feel the same way about any of this. Lol I hope im not alone.
